[This is pretty close to how I imagine Above's writing is like. Messy, thick-marker stuff, but legible. Though she can fit more letters per line.]

[There's a blot on the paper. She wants to thank the people who watched her glass cocoon, but... Anyway.]

So anyone heard of a nothlit before?  And

Good to be back. Or out. Or whatever.

So, I'm [imitated a bit slowly] gūniang now?

You do not find it too presumptuous, I hope.

It is a respectful address for a good friend.

[Congrats, Huo, you've flummoxed her. There's a blot where her marker tip rests on the page for a while. The fact that he hung around her cocoon while she was dusted would suggest that he's not lying. WHAT DO.]

Why

[Strike that out. Paaaause.]

Thanks?

[Strike the questionmark. But now she seems sentimental, and we can't have that.]

Yeah, well [pause] just don't expect me to paint for you.

[That sounds stupid. ...Oh well.]

[Thankfully, being a clever sort, Huo sort of anticipated this and knows to Move Right Along rather than further embarrass the tsunderquetz.]

I must confess that I did not know you painted.

[Moving right along!]

A little. When I can find the materials.

[There's a pause, and - massive vaguely pawlike left handprint (http://joysweeper.deviantart.com/art/Another-Quetz-Pic-189517634) in deep purple.]

That's the good thing about all this fruit around.

Truly your creativity is impressive - though it seems the journals are too small a canvas.

It is. Materials aren't any good when there's not enough blank space.

[pause]

Fine. Are you afraid of heights?

[There is a pause. It's the kind of pause that speaks for itself.]

Is it a very long flight?

[Aww.]

Not particularly. Or you could get some binoculars. I know it's visible from some of the branches.

Just better do it soon. I think it's going to rain today.

[Pentaaaap...]

If you do not mind the burden, I shall appreciate a closer look.

[... only because he's your friend, tsunderquetz. Deal with that.]

It's got to be like this.

Image

[Pretend that's in a much thicker, messier marker, with less detail.]

Last chance to save your dignity!

[... wat.]

My dignity is long forfeit; yet perhaps for the sake of comfort?

[With a few deft strokes, a new picture appears below Above's:. Imagine that it's a lot bit more defined, though...]

That would be interesting. Think you can improvise something like that?

You're probably heavier than Krile anyway.

I shall require some materials: wood, rope and cloth. But it's an essentially simple design.

Kind of like a stretcher, maybe, so it doesn't twist.

As long as it doesn't choke me. Or pinch off the blood to my feet.

That should not be a problem if the harness is adjusted and the rider's weight properly distributed. We will need to find material that is comfortable against your ski; I'm not sure how thick it is.

Just line it with fleece or something. I've done fine so far with ropes. It probably helps that it's only been short flights so far.

Short flights are best, really.

That is understandable: If I may be so bold as to say, riding you doesn't seem entirely natural.

I would hope not. I'm not a beast of burden - I don't even belong in your time.

Though I certainly agree with the first part of your statement, I confess that the second confounds me.

I'm part of an extinct species. Quetzalcoatlus is one of the last azhdarchids, and the azhdarchids are the last pterosaurs, but we're still all dead long before the first humans.

[There's a long pause. He is so confused. So there's really only one answer.]

Is there perhaps a book on this subject to be found? I am loathe to trouble you with too many questions.

From: [identity profile] azhdarchidae.livejournal.com
Oh, tons. See if the bookstore has anything on pterosaurs. [Which hopefully the geas leaves alone this time.] Maybe start with fossils.

Anyway, you'll need what, measurements?
